When you start a new website, you want to get it up and running as quickly as possible. That means you'd probably rather start from scratch than work on an existing site.

If you've ever tried to create a new website, you may have found that it takes a long time to get it up and running. And even when you're done, you may find that you don't really need all the pages.

You don't necessarily need every page on your site. In fact, some sites only need a handful of pages. The most important thing is to figure out which pages you should include.

The following pages should not be missing from a new website:

  1. Home page – the home page is where everyone who goes to a domain lands directly. The home page should be clear and present all the important content so that the visitor can find something of interest.
  2. Contact page – a contact page contains a form so that website visitors can send messages to the operator. This page is not mandatory, but it is recommended.
  3. Privacy page – it is also important to have a discrete page where visitors can read how their data is handled and where and for what purpose their data is stored.
  4. "About us" page – on this page you can briefly introduce the website. Every website has a mission. There is enough space on the "About Us" page to let visitors know why you created the website.

Once you've created the basic pages for the site, it won't look so empty and you can focus on creating more great content for your visitors.
