To be able to work with Amazon as an affiliate in the long run, you should meet some basic requirements:
- Honest work – first of all, you should be clear that there is no point in trying to trick or cheat Amazon. It won't work and it will backfire, because Amazon has had more than two decades of experience and there are quite a few scammers out there.
- Patience – most of the actions that make Amazon's affiliate program so lucrative are not done in a month or two. It's not uncommon for it to take years to replace a regular job as an Amazon affiliate.
- Self-employment – you should have a business registered if you want to make money on the Internet, this applies not only to Amazon but also to all other profitable activities.
- Advertising platform – you must have either your own website or a profile on Facebook, YouTube, etc. to be able to use Amazon's advertising tools there. Having your own website is by far the best option in the long run.
- Spamming – it is forbidden to simply scatter affiliate links from Amazon wildly around the internet in hopes of earning commissions. This is the fastest way to get banned from the affiliate program.
- Marketing knowledge – you should already know about online marketing and teach yourself at least the basics to be able to earn even the first commission as an Amazon affiliate.
- Reading guidelines – there are guidelines for Amazon's affiliate program that you should read once before you start using the affiliate program.
If you meet these "minimum requirements", it is theoretically possible to earn money as an affiliate with Amazon in the foreseeable future. Of course, there are also personal factors like discipline and sustainable actions to improve your chances of success.
